How much is admission?

Admission to the museum is free, however donations are appreciated. 

What is the museum?

The Gadsden Museum of Art is home to 5 art galleries consistently displaying a variety of artwork throughout two floors, and 1 historical exhibit on the third and final floor with artifacts and information regarding surrounding cities in Etowah County. The museum is run by the City of Gadsden and is not affiliated with the Mary G. Hardin Center for Cultural Arts or the Imagination Place. 

When was the museum founded?

The Gadsden Museum of Art was established by the Gadsden Art Association (GAA) in 1963, first opening its doors within the Convention Hall in 1965. 

What kind of things are on display?

The work on display at the museum is a revolving door of all types of art, contemporary and traditional. This includes installations, paintings, drawings, design, sculpture, etc.

How do I apply for an exhibition?

To apply for an exhibition, visit the Forms page.

How do I make a monetary donation?

To make a monetary donation, please visit the Get Involved page or visit the museum to make an in-person donation. 

How do I donate an item?

To donate an artifact or item you believe would be befitting to the museum, please visit the Forms page for the Donation Collection Policy and email the form to rwetzel@cityofgadsden.com, as well as attached imaged of the item you would like to donate. 

How do I become a volunteer or intern?

Can I have an event here?

Unfortunately, we will be discontinuing the opening of our Museum for events.
