In celebration of the US signing of the Constitution 250 years ago, the Alabama State Council on the Arts is preparing an art exhibit to be held in April at the Capitol in Montgomery. Works are to be created by students in 3rd through 5th grade. The plan for this particular class was to have students create our state bird using supplies provided, which would include paper, pencil, markers, glue, and scissors. These works can and are encouraged to be their own, having freedom of expression for students to add or subtract what they like. "What Makes Alabama Great" is their prompt to build upon their artwork. All artwork not selected will be sent home. Class size up to 15. Two works will be selected for the exhibition.
