Beginning Watercolor Class

Price: $30 per day or $150 for full six weeks
Description: Learn to paint with watercolor with artist Bryce Lafferty. During this six-week beginning watercolor class, students can expect to learn about the materials, basic techniques, and simple methods for creating fresh and luminous watercolor paintings.

Materials List: Alabama Art Supply
Paper: Arches cold press watercolor paper, 22X30 inches, 3 sheets
Brushes: Princeton Heritage Brushes, 1” flat, #3 round, #6 round, #10 round
Paint: Grumbacher Academy watercolor tubes: Alizarin Crimson, Ultramarine Blue, Gamboge, Payne’s Grey, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Sepia, Hookers Green
Palette: medium size watercolor palette, with individual wells and cover
Other: paper towels, hairdryer, pencil, art gum eraser.

Art Class Policy
TUITION
Tuition for afternoon art classes is $100 per month due the first week of each month. Cost is based on total number of classes for the year and covers all supplies and teacher fees. Payments DO NOT reflect $25 per class. If your child misses a class you will not be able to get a full refund for class, because materials have been purchased and each instructor needs to be compensated for their time. Checks should be made out to the instructor of the class your child is attending. For students starting 2nd semester, the first payment will be due in January.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
If your child misses more than 3 consecutive classes, your child’s slot in the class will be vacated with only a partial refund, 40% of the previous month’s payment. This is due to the number of students that are on our waiting list to enter classes.
Fall Art Classes
Fall art classes, instructed by Kayla Allen, will resume on September 15th, 2026, at the Gadsden Museum of Art. If you are interested in enrolling your child in art classes, please fill out the form and email the document to gmagadsden@gmail.com.

Art Classes
The Gadsden Museum of Art is pleased to offer a NEW art class for students in grades 1st - 6th. This class will be instructed by Shea Gray and will be held on Thursdays from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Cost is $100 per month. Classes will resume September 17th, 2026.
Each year, classes end in May and resume in September.

Art Classes
The Gadsden Museum of Art is pleased to offer an art class for middle and high school art students. The class will be instructed by Jeff Davis and will be held on Mondays from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Cost is $100 per month. Classes will resume September 14th, 2026.
