Volunteers

Volunteering at the Gadsden Museum of Art provides innumerable benefits, including personal enrichment, increased knowledge of the arts, and opportunities to develop new skill and meet new friends who share your interest. There are a number of ways that you can volunteer at GMA:

Docents
Docents are the face and voice of the Museum. Each year, they serve thousands of visitors a year giving tours to people of all ages. This title is awarded to volunteers with an enthusiasm for the Museum’s collections and a talent for communication with children and adults.

Staff Assistants
Volunteers work with the Museum staff in the administrative office. On-the-job training is provided as needed. They also greet the public, direct visitors with in the museum, and advise guests about current and future exhibitions and programs.

Volunteer Resources/Special Exhibitions
Volunteers support the ongoing activities of the Museum, assist the staff with behind-the-scenes office projects and events.

Please contact Elaine Campbell at 256-546-7365 to schedule a meeting time or for more information.
