History of the English Bible

This exhibit will feature a display of historically significant and interesting Bibles collected by the Gadsden Primitive Baptist Church. In addition to the exhibit there will be a conference hosted by Gadsden Primitive Baptist Church July 17-18. Click here for more info.

 

 

Gadsden Art Association Juried Show
Celebrating 50 Years!
July 1 - August 24, 2009
Applications for entry for the 2009 Annual Juried Art Show are now available. Entries must be submitted by May 22, 2009. An opening reception will be held Friday, July 3, 2008 from 6 - 8 PM where winners will be announced. A minimum of $1000 has been set aside for awards and $500 for purchase awards. 2009 Southeastern Plein Air Festival

Southeastern Plein Air Painting Exhibit
May 1 - May 30, 2009
Join the Gadsden Museum of Art as we celebrate the works completed during the first annual Southeastern Plein Air Festival. The exhibit opened with a Wet Paint Auction and will continue to be on display until a closing Live Auction on Friday, June 5, 2009. Works celebrate the natural beauty and splendor of Gadsden and are available for purchase through a number of auctions including a silent auction currently being held in the museum and an online auction. The Gadsden Museum of Art and History is pleased to announce the annual Etowah County School Art Exhibit. Kindergarten through twelfth grade students are represented in the diverse body of work currently installed throughout the entirety of the museum. Egg Creations in Miniature
An Exhibit by Ronald Schwartz
Join the Gadsden Museum of Art as we celebrate the work of Ronnie Schwartz. In this exhibition, you will be treated to the exquisite craftmanship of these Faberge-inspired eggs as well as the remarkable detail in the miniature portraits. The Egg Creations included entertainment tributes to Gone With the Wind, The Sound of Music, and Elvis. This is anticipated to be the last exhibition of the work, and it is sure to be a delight to all museum visitors!

Virginia VaughanV.... Vaughan: "Last Year on the Farm"
July 1 - August 30, 2008
On July 1, GMA welcomes Texan artist Virginia Vaughan and a collection of 365 paintings. Virginia has recently been featured in the publications American Art and Wildlife Art. "Last Year on the Farm" is painted documentation of what was literally Vaughan's last year on a farm in which her husband and her family had lived on for four generations. Arthur UmlaufArthur Umlauf: Alabama's Finest 2008
June 24 - August 1, 2008
The annual Alabama's Finest show will be featuring the work of Hoover, Alabama artist Arthur Umlauf. The son of the late sculptor, Charles Umlauf, and shares his artistic abilities with his siblings. Growing up artistic, Umlauf acknowledges the impact that his father's passion for art had on him as well as the influence of his siblings. Umlauf has spent the majority of his life as a carpenter and cabinetmaker, and he is now demonstrating his great skill through carving bronze, stone, wood, and ceramics.
