2008 Student Art Show
March 2 - April 19

One of the primary goals of the Gadsden Museum of Art is to instill an appreciation of the arts in the youth of our community.  The Student Art Show held each year enables us to fulfill that goal.  This year’s Student Art Show is now on exhibit at GMA.  The exhibition features the works of students in grades K-12 from Gadsden City Schools, Etowah County Schools, local parochial and private schools, and home schooled students.    Included in the exhibition are works of sculpture, drawings and paintings, collage, and graphic design.  The student art exhibition gives local students an opportunity to show their work, while giving museum visitors a chance to see the enormous amount of talent that is present in our schools.  GMA would like to offer a special word of thanks to the parents and teachers who work daily to enrich the lives of children through the arts.  The exhibit will be on display through April 19.
On March 2, GMA’s halls were filled with visitors at an opening reception for the show.  Prizes were awarded at each grade level.
